New Year, New Ideas

The new year has started very positively! Mark and I attended the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) conference in London, which was very inspirational. It was a great opportunity to meet many wonderful people, particularly since I offered to distribute my lecture notes! One of the many messages from the Business School was the importance of networking. This has been a turning point for me personally as I used to be quite shy talking about photography. Now I will talk about it to anyone who will listen...it's amazing how much people are willing to share with you when you open up to them.

We have had a number of new customers booking sittings, based on referrals from friends and family. Our Christmas Fairs generated a lot of interest last year and people are now booking sittings without us having to advertise.

Today the lovely Kelly had a portrait session. She admitted to being quite nervous at first and not particularly enjoying having her photo taken in the past. A few shots later we were having a laugh and she started to relax. The excitement on someone's face when they see a good portrait of themselves is so encourgaing for me - it means I have done my job well!
